Hotel Riviera

Excellent service and great balance price/benefit. We stayed in a room with terrace and lake view. The choice was totally worth, the room was very clean, the toilet has been fully renovated and the towels were also brand new. The room had TV, minibar (only with water but was totally fine), and the internet connection worked very well. We visited the hotel in autumn so the pool wasn’t open (it’s outdoor pool) yet we enjoyed very much the amazing view from the restaurant. We loved the service of all the staff… people in the restaurant are super kind, same with cleaning staff and reception. The lovely lady of the restaurant pampered us with coffee to bring to the room so we could enjoy the sunny day in the terrace. The hotel has plenty of options for parking, you can pay it (5 or 10CHF/night) depending on availability of the different places or even you can park for free few blocks far from the hotel. We would definitely stay again in Riviera Hotel!

My husband and I booked the Hotel Riviera for 7 nights but later decided to stay longer as we liked the place very much. First of all, the view: we stayed on the 4th floor with the lake view. Note that the rooms on the 4th floor are with air conditioning (an extra 20 CHF in case of using it), and the rest of the rooms are with fans/ventilators. The very welcoming family staff of the hotel: most of them speak several languages which makes it easy to sort out any query: the adaptor for the Swiss socket, a vase for flowers, attractions to visit, the local dishes to try, etc. If you are without a car, the hotel offers a Ticino ticket which allows you to travel by regional trains and buses free of charge and gives discounts on other regional attractions. The promenade along the lakeside from the hotel to Bissone: walkings in the early morning and late evening make this place special. More things to share but all in all, I am very grateful to my husband for finding this hotel, to the hotel staff for their openness, and willingness to sort out our queries with respect and attention, and for the opportunity to learn the story of their family hotel.
